The Governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris Wada has commiserated with the people of Ondo State in general and particularly the immediate family of former Governor of the State Late Olusegun Agagu over the crash of the plane conveying the remains of the diseased politician from Lagos to Ondo State in the early hours of yesterday. The sad incident in which some family members and associates of the former governor were feared to have died occurred in the domestic wing of Murtala Mohammed International airport seconds after the plane took off.
In a statement, the Kogi Governor"s Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Mr. Jacob Edi, says Capt. Wada received the news of the crash and the attendant casualty with shock and disbelieve.
He noted that Nigerians are yet to come to terms with the demise of the former governor and described the crash as a disaster of no mean consequences.
"My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their lives and the injured. Thins is one disaster too many. May God grant the departed a peaceful repose of their souls and their families the fortitude to bear the irreversible loss. I urge all Nigerians to intensify prayers for God's protection in our land", the statement added.
