Gov Wada Flagg off road construction at the cost of over 1Billion in Kogi


The Kogi state Governor Captain Idris Wada has flagged of over 1Billion naira road projects in Kogi East Senatorial district of the state.

The roads are Okura township road in Dekina Local Government Council of the state at the cost of N263 Million naira and Ojoku- and Odagbe-Otukpa junction road at the cost of N713 Million naira in Ankpalocal government councils of the state.

Flagging of the Okura township road at the weekend,Governor Idris Wada said the construction of the road which has already commenced is expected to be completed in the next 4 months.

He said the road project was awarded in the year 2010 at the cost of N263 Million naira adding that about N78.9 million naira was paid to the contractor to enable them commenced work in in time stressing that ones the project is completed and satisfied by the government the balance will be paid without any delay.

He assured the people of the state of his commitment in providing dividend of democracy particularly to the people in the rural area noting that with the little resource-available the state government will try to meet the needs of the people if not all.

He called on the people to be law abaiden so that development can come 
to them.

Also in Ankpa local government council where Ojoku-Okaba-Odagba-Otukpa junction road construction work was flagged off by the governor was witnessed bythousand of people who came to grace the occasion.

Flagging off the construction of road at the cost of N713 Million naira, Captain Wada said when construction work on the roads are completed it will assist in moving coal mines from Okaba and also improve the economy of the town.

The governor called on the contractor to complete the projects with 6months they have promised.

Captain Wada also commissioned electricity project at Akatapia in Ankpa local government council as he also visited Ogane-Aji erosion control at Aynigba where works is going on to control the erosion.
