Nigeria will withness a new down when Ajakuta Steel commences Operation --- Wada

The successful take off of the Ajaokuta Steel Company,has been described as the cornerstone of development for Nigeria.
Kogi State Governor, Capt Idris Wada,stated this when he received in audience the Ukarian Ambassador to Nigeria,Valery Vasyliev,the President General of Ukrainian National Foreign Economic Corporation,Eugine Kosic, who are Operators of Vazmash Inpex LLC one of the Technical partners interested in resuscitating Ajaokuta Steel Company and Attah Achimugu,the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of REPROM Nig. Ltd the Technical Partners to Ajaokuta Steel Company.


The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi,said the country would witness a new dawn when the Ajaokuta steel plant is made functional,commended the laudable role played by REPROM in ensuring the smooth take off of the steel plant.
The State Governor commended the 10% equity participation of REPROM NIG. LTD towards resuscitating the steel plant,assured of the state government total support to bring the plant to fruition.
The Governor described Kogi State as a state fast becoming an industrial hub for the nation with the recent commissioning of the Geregu power plant and the location of the biggest cement factory in West Africa when completed by 2014, said the present administration is resolute in making the steel company work.
Earlier in his speech,the Ukarian Ambassador to Nigeria, Valery Vasyliev,called on the Kogi State Government who are the primary stakeholders of the steel plant,to work to the realization of the work ability of Ajaokuta plant.
The Ambassador said Ukraine is the biggest exporter of steel and has the experience to turn around the fortune of the moribund Ajaokuta steel plant, commended the efforts of the Kogi State Government.
The Ambassador said ukraine looks forward to a robust working relationship with the kogi state government in vocational partnership and other areas of mutual benefit.
Also speaking,the President General of Ukrainian National Foreign Economic Corporation,Eugine Kosic,expressed optimism that the Ajaokuta Steel company will commence in earnest, adding that since 1998,VAZMASH INPEX LLC,had shown interest in the resuscitation of the steel plant,assured that with the combination of world experts in the organization who are specialist in resuscitating moribund steel plants, the Ajaokuta Steel company will be a reality soon.
The President of VAZMASH INPEX LLC described the steel plant as still in tact despite years of neglect,called for the collaboration of government at all levels to make the project run.
Already,a working rehabilitation plan to make the steel plant commence operation,Eugine Kosic disclosed has gotten the approval of the Federal Ministry of Steel,added that when operational the plant will not only serve as market in Nigeria but outside the shores of the country.
In his opening remarks,Attah Achimugu,MD/CEO REPROM Nig.Ltd,said as Technical Partner to the Steel plant since 2003, the resuscitation of Ajaokuta steel plant he disclosed is a must for the nation.
Achimugu described Ajaokuta steel as a viable project adding that it is not obsolete as been perceived in some quarters.
Mr Achimugu commended the present administration for given a clear cut policy that the steel plant in the state must work,said REPROM is building a symbiotic relationship with ukrainian and the Russians  to make the steel plant functional.
