Kogi Govt solicits COREN,NSE support

Members of the Council of Registered Engineers and the Nigeria Society of Engineers in Kogi State have been called upon to show more concern in the infrastructural development that is on-going in the State.
The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, made the call when he received in audience State Officials of COREN and the Nigeria Society of Engineers.


The Deputy Governor, called on COREN and NSE to show more than a passing interest in Government activities especially as it has to do with infrastructural development. This he said is to ensure standard and check haphazard development.
The present administration, Awoniyi disclosed is committed to providing quality infrastructures, however said, that can be realized when COREN and NSE bring in their supervisory role to ensure best practice in the built and infrastructural sector.
The State Government Awoniyi explained is at the designed phase of building a Motor park that will be replicated in urban centers of the State, called for the technical input of COREN, NSE in overcoming the initial challenges of erosion the project is encountering.
Awoniyi, assured the Professionals, of Government support to enable them discharge their responsibilities.
In his remarks, Engr. Adebola Michael Ajayi, State Chairman of COREN, said the body was in the State to solicit for support for its two day workshop, with the theme; infrastructural development in Nigeria: avoiding building collapse in Kogi State, proposed in October, is aimed at employing best practices in the area of infrastructural development.
Engr. Adebola commended Kogi State Government in its interest in ensuring standard in project execution.
