Bloodbath in Borno as Boko Haram Slaughters 19 at Fake Checkpoint

Members of the Nigeria’s islamic militants group popularly known as Boko Haram on Sunday went on rampage killing 19 commuters in the town of Logumani near the Cameroon border.
bokoSurvivors told AFP that the militants  dressed in Nigeria’s military uniform and riding motorcycles blocked the road as if they were conducting checks, adding that they ordered all the passengers to come down from the vehicle and face down.
Reports say, five people were gunned down immediately while 15 others were hacked down.

The witnesses further explained the killings continued until the militants received a phone call that real soldiers were coming their way. They then jumped into their motorcycles and hurriedly left the scene.
Speaking to AFP, a survivor said: “We were asked to get out of our vehicles and lie face down by nine men dressed as soldiers who blocked the road,”
“They shot dead five people and went about slaughtering 14 others before someone called them on the phone that soldiers were heading their way.”
Boko Haram is responsible for the death of thousands in northern Nigeria since the militants began their rampage and heartless attacks on innocent Nigerians.
The killings and its attendant security implications have made Nigerian government to declare state of emergency in three northern states.
