Women group to build skill acquisition centre for widows, less privilege children in Kogi


Women group, under the auspices of Peculiar Ladies Association  in Ajaokuta local government of   Kogi state,  is to build skill acquisition centre that cater for  widows and less privilege children in the society.

The chairperson of the Association, Mercy Bako, disclosed this while speaking to journalists shortly after  the N10 million fund raising  launching ceremony of the association.

She said the fund raising was to enable the association to build an acquisition centre that would take care of Widows and less privilege children in the society as well as free distribution exercise books to schools in the local government.

She said the association efforts in this direction was born out the  fact that government alone cannot provide all thing for the people, hence the need to partner with government agencies, corporate organizations and individual becomes imperative. 

The chairman of the occasion, Umar Maigida Ibrahim commended the initiative of the women group to help the widows and less privilege children, calling on other groups, organizations and individuals to partner with government in building a viral society.

Magida who is the Chairman Bassa local government of Kogi state said government alone cannot provide the needed development hence the need for groups to partner with the government.
