Three Police Men killed in Kogi as attackers bomb Police Station


Gunmen on Sunday night attacked the Area Police station in Osara, Adavi Local Government area of Kogi State killing three police officers and one other civilian during the attack.

According to source from the community, the gunmen numbering 20 attacked the station around 10 pm, using dynamite to bomb the police Station.

Aside that, some of the gunmen were said to have stay at the gate shooting sporadically to the air scaring passerby, villagers and student of the State Polytechnic in Osara campus which is adjacent the police Station.

The State Police Public Relation Officer, Mr. Romanus Nwaneri who confirmed the story said the gunmen must have been hibernating in the neighourhood as the force suspect them to have stormed the police Station from the bush.

Nwaneri said that their men also reply the gunmen, where some of the gunmen must have sustained injuries during the battle and they will soon be apprehended

He said investigation is ongoin to the motive of the attack stressing that the gunmen were unable to get any weapon from their armory.
