The road projects which were awarded to various competent contractors to handle is aimed at giving the urban areas across the state a face lift as well as boosting their socio-economic activities.
The Kogi state Commissioner of Information, Mr. Yabaji Bologi who dis loses this while speaking with newsmen at the end of the EXCO meeting at Government House stressed that the council also approved the establishment of the State Road Maintenance Agency and the sum of over N332 million was approved for the pro urge meant of its heavy duty equipments to commence its maintenance operation of all the state roads.
The Commissioner also said that over N95 million naira was also considered by the council for the external electrification of the Post-Flood Housing Estate in Lokoja while N50 million naira was also approved for Women Empowerment in the state under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement with the Kogi Micro Finance Bank.
He noted that the PPP arrangement was aimed at ensuring that the lives of Women in the state were improved upon.
