Bring in your experience-----Awoniyi
Towards making better decision in leadership position, professional managers have been asked to bring in their wealth of experience in time,financial and human resource management in their different fields of endeavors.
The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the 2013 Annual National Management Conference of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered).
Awoniyi who was honored with the Institutes highest award of Fellowship at the occasion, called on professionals to remain dedicated,committed and work with a high sense of responsibility and                                                                    accountability to deliver good governance.
While noting that the task of getting the country up and running should not be left in the hands of government alone,Awoniyi appealed to professionals to be actively involved in public policy advocacy by addressing burning and contemporary issues of national importance.
In a statement issued in Lokoja, Awoniyi urged professional managers to uphold honesty and integrity and to do away with other vices that are common in work place.
In his address,National President of Nigerian Institute of Management,Chief (Dr) Micheal Olawale Cole described ineffective leadership as the bane of the nations development since independence.
While noting that the country is blessed with human and natural resources,said it takes commitment and focus to deliver good governance.
