Eradicate Polio---gov Wada call on Northern Traditional Rulers

Polio eradication a necessary tools  
The Kogi state a governor Captain Idris Wada has said that Polio eradication in the North is a task that must be accomplished by stakeholders from the north.
He made the statement during the 3 quarter meeting of the committee and sensitization meeting for Northern Traditional Rulers from the 19 Northern states of the country  on Wednesday.
He said that immunization in the north has not been quite improved much and commended the committee for its feat in ensuring Polio eradication in the north.
He said that the involvement of the Traditnal rulers in the fight will achieve it desired result adding that their role must be strengthened so as to eliminate Polio in Nigeria.
Earlier the representative of the National Health Care Development Agency Dr. Emmanuel Odo in his welcome speech said the meeting was to proffer a way forward in boosting Primary Health Care in the region.
He appreciated Governor Wada for his continued support to wipe out Polio in the state and Nigeria at large.
The Chairmen 19 Northern states Traditional Leaders Forum, Alhaji Usman Elkanemi the Shehu of Bama in Bornu state in his speech said the committee is a high level group with primary focus on routine immunization/ Polio Eradication.
He said that it is important they meet quarterly to identify challenges in the implementation of Polio Eradication stressing that it will help to identify a way forward in averting the dreaded disease.
He commended the Traditional Rulers from the 19 Northern states for coming adding that it shows that they are ready to eradicate polio in the country.
