Flooding: move to higher ground--- Kogi state Government warns

Kogi State Government says the operators of Jebba Hydroelectric Dam have finally released the waters from the Dam. To this end,people living around flood plains in the State have no hiding place as the flood will come.
By this development, people living along the flood plains, have now been asked by the State Government to move to higher ground.
According to the State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, Jebba reservoir that was at elevation 99.09m has risen to 102.42m following copious inflow receipt.
To this end, the Deputy Governor, has called on people living in flood plains areas of the State to immediately relocate as the flooding is now imminent following the release of water from Jebba Dam.
The State Deputy Governor therefore called on riverian communities up and down the downstream of Jebba Dam to vacate the flood plains to forestall unpleasant experiences.
The Deputy Governor restated that the State Government is taking necessary actions to prevent the devastating consequences that trailed 2012 flood, called on the people to however heed the warning to relocate.
