Gov Idris Wada meeting the mandate of the people

Ralph Omololu Agbana
I am not expecting some people to cease their swords formed against Capt Idris Wada even with recent efforts to jumpstart the economy of Kogi State through agricultural and industrial development and youth empowerment, because they never will. When 5,000 youths were taken off the streets to undergo trainings and given jobs to make them self reliant, what we got was a hiss from recalcitrant detractors. Upon the award of contracts for the resuscitation of the moribund radio stations at Egbe, Otite and Ochaja, some have said Radio is not what we need.

Th e Wada Administration recently signed 15 Memoranda of Understanding with investors from across the world, a move aimed at rewriting the story of Kogi State through simulating agricultural and industrial revolution in the state. When we posted this, we didn't expect our die hard critics to see any difference that will make in a state blessed with agricultural, mining, industry and tourism potentials, yet rated among the poorest in the country because it has failed over the years to grow in tandem with its capacity. They never did. We are making haste slowly and we appreciate the impatience of the people. We will continue to strive to meet the yearnings of the masses. Where we are not doing enough people should not hesitate to point it out. As it were, we got used to being derided by anti-Wada cliches who have made it their trade to malign the person and government of Capt Idris Wada, even when not necessarily based on reason nor knowledge, but for purely pecuniary considerations. As a responsible and responsive government, we are not in a hurry to join issues with those cliches. The Idris Wada-led government of Kogi State is on course. It has never rested on its oars in ensuring dividends of democracy reach the largest number of the citizenry in the shortest time possible.
