The Kogi State Government has been commended for positively repositioning the information sector.

The commendation was made by the immediate past General Manager of Kogi State Graphic Newspaper, Pastor Ezekiel Oyekanmi, while on a visit to the Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi.


The former General Manager particularly, praised the face lift given to the State owned Newspaper, the Graphics and the State Broadcasting Corporation.

Pastor Oyekanmi, equally lauded the recent contract award for the purchase of a Printing Press for the State and the rehabilitation of all the Radio booster stations in the State.

While noting that the State media had never had it so good, the former General Manager, said the plan towards the take off of a State owned Television Station was not only timely but coming at a time the people need to know much about the transformation agenda of the Capt. Idris Wada’s administration.

While urging the State Government to sustain the feats so far achieved in repositioning the information sector, Oyekanmi described the Information Commissioner, Alhaji Yabagi Bologi as a man working quietly but achieving so much.

The former General Manager, equally praised the contributions of the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor and other media aides of the Government for their role in informing the Public of Government’s Programmes and Policies, described information as power that can galvanize people to key into Government’s Programmes and activities.

In his remarks, the Chief Press Secretary to the Kogi State Deputy Governor, Abu Michael who received the former General Manager on the visit, said Government’s commitment to repositioning the information sector was deliberate, describing information as critical and the driver of the transformation agenda of the Capt. Wada.

Mr. Abu noted that the repositioning is geared towards projecting Government activities at the grassroots and to carry along the people in the task of running Government business.

Abu Michael, commended Capt. Idris Wada’s administration for the numerous successes it has recorded within a relative short stay in office amidst scarce available resources.
