SURE-P Projects Captain Wada charges LGA Chairmen

Kogi State Government has charged Local Government Council Chairmen in the State to strictly adhere to specification in the implementation of about 300 SURE – P projects currently on going in all the council areas of the State.

Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris Wada, stated this when he presided over a meeting between Council Chairmen in the state and State SURE – P Committee Members.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi,described the performance of some Council Chairmen in the State as outstanding in the ongoing projects in their respective areas that have been inspected by the State Monitoring Committee.
The Governor, appealed to others whose performance were below expectation to brace up as the second phase of the project is soon to begin.

Capt. Wada noted that the welfare of the people should always remain very paramount in project initiation and execution,however appealed to the Council Chairmen to in the next phase of the SURE – P Projects to be executed, ensure full participation of the people.

The Governor assured that all cases of bureaucracy and delay in the release of funds would be addressed,also disclosed that the present administration would not condone project abandonment.

Earlier in their remarks, Alhaji Yusuf Ali and Dr. Deida Attah gave reports of their monitoring in the twenty one Local Government Areas visited.

While they scored some of the Council Chairmen high, they urged others to brace up in the next phase.

In their separate responses, the Council Chairmen and some of the Committee members, commended the manner in which the State Government places emphasis on project execution and supervision, promising to justify the funds for the Projects intended.
