The present administration in Kogi State has been commended for its contributions towards the reduction of HIV/AIDS in the State.
The Executive Secretary of Kogi State Agency for the control of Aids (KOSACA), Hajia R. L. Bala, gave the commendation at the third quarterly SACA/Line Ministries forum held at KOSACA secretariat, Lokoja.
Hajia Bala appreciated Governor Idris Wada for his focus to curtail the spread of the disease and possibly reduce it to zero level in order to save the incoming generations from the scourge of the disease.
He also appreciated him for the prompt payment of government counterpart fund to the World Bank.
The gesture, she said, facilitated the commencement of activities by Line Ministries on HIV/AIDs programme work plan for 2013.
Hajia Bala further pledged KOSACA’s readiness to support the focal officers to overcome their areas of difficulties.
In his own remark, the Project Manager, KOSACA, Dir. Gabriel Musa, emphasised that the fund released was mainly from the World Bank, which must be judiciously utilised for the purpose it was meant for.
He charged the critical Mass Committees, particularly the focal persons to be efficient, prudent and transparent, as all focal officers would be held liable for all mismanaged funds.
He advised the officers to comply strictly with KOSACA policy and to liaise properly with the officials of the Agency for expert advice.
Dr. Musa congratulated everyone for the ‘No Objection’ remark given to their work plans and wished them successful implementation of the programme.
