FINANCE BANE OF NIGERIA UNIVERSITIES, SAYS KOGI VARSITY VC


The Vice Chancellor of Kogi state University, Professor Hassan Isah has identified finance  as  the major problem confronting Nigeria Universities.  

Professor Isah who made this know while speaking in a chat with newsmen at his office at Ayingba stated the government can not do it alone in view of many challenges confronting governments   

He explained that for Universities  to meet its statutory obligation as citadel of learning of learning there must be alternative source of funding through internally generated revenue to meet the financial commitment in all facet of life in the institution of higher learning 

He commended the efforts of the state governor,captain Idris Wada for the giant stride in the state owned University, adding the on going projects at the institution attested  to the fact that state governor is education friendly governor.

The VIce Chancellor stated that establishment of College of Medicine at to fast track the new Medical programme and two blocks of 32 rooms hostels for boys and girls at the main campus which is aimed at making the institution a full residential are  highy commendable.

Professor Isah also debunked the rumour making the round that  the  Vice Chancellor has proposed to increase the tuition fees, stressing that it was a false as there was no plan to do so  and he has no such power to unilaterally increase school fees.    

On the issue of cultism, Professor Isah stated that the institution has zero tolerance for cultism, saying that all alleged cases of cult activities that occured outside the campus of the University.
