Communities having Inter-Local Government Boundary disputes in Kogi State have been enjoined to strive for peace at all times so as to bring positive development to the State.
 
The Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, made the remark at a meeting with stakeholders on Ogori-Magongo/Okene Inter-Local Government boundary in his office in Lokoja.
 
The Deputy Governor who is also the Chairman of the State Boundary Committee said the meeting was called to further galvanize and strengthen the existing peace of the people living around the disputed boundary, saying that the people of the two Local Government areas have been living peacefully over the years, and should not allow issues of boundary to dis unite them.
 
While commending both areas for maintaining peace and order, he urged other Local Government Areas to emulate their peaceful conduct for the overall development of the areas and the State as a whole.
 
Awoniyi particularly thanked Ogori/Magongo Local Government for handling its boundary grievances with utmost maturity, discipline and restraint.
 
Awoniyi called for more cooperation from the stakeholders towards maintaining peace in their respective domains and amicable resolution of the matter.
