Welfare of rural dwellers, our priority-Kogi ALGON boss


The chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, (ALGON), Kogi state chapter, Aloysius Okino has said that the councils in the state will continue to work for improved welfare condition for the rural dwellers.

The chairman who stated this over the weekend during the award ceremony organized by IBRO Leadership Initiative, noted that, with improve funding from the federation account, the councils will perform better than  what it is presently.

Okino who spoke through the Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to ALGON, Ibrahim Obansa,  stressed that the award of the most prudent chairman in the state bestowed on him will encourage him to render more quality service to the people.


He maintained that the level of support the councils in the state have received from Governor Idris Wada so far has remain the driving force and encouragement for the chairmen.

The chairman promised the continued support of the council chairmen in the state to the programmes of the governor which he said was aimed at bringing accelerated development to the state.

According to him the honour equally done to the chairmen of Dekina, Muhammed Ali, Bassa Maigida, Okene, Salawu Ogembe, is a clear indication that the chairmen are doing their level best to improve the living conditions of the rural people.

He called on the people of the state to be patient with the government, arguing that with the necessary support and encouragement from the people, the government will surely deliver on its promises.
