CAPTAIN WADA HONOUR TWO GOLDEN EAGLETS

The Kogi state Governor,Captain Idris Wada gave N1million and a plot of Land each to the  two Kogi born Golden Eaglets that brought fame to the country in the last Under 17 FIFA World Cup Soccer which took place in United Arab Emirate.

The two players are Aliyu Abubakar Audu from Ankpa local government council and Akinjide Idowu from Yagba West local government council of Kogi state.

The two players were received by Captain Idris Wada at Lugard House Lokoja as he urged them not to be boisterous on their present achievements, but to do exceptionally more to join the Super Eagles as they mature ahead.

He also urged them to continue to focused, discipline and resolute and and of course to be obedient to their coaches so that they remain role models to the youths and up-coming generation .

Earlier, the State Commissioner for Youths and Sport, Anthony Puke described Captain Idris Wada as the most sport friendly governor the state has ever had noting that this attribute was seriously contributing to his youth empowerment Programme for the state.

Mr. Puke said he was optimistic that the two proud Kogites in the junior National team would reciprocate the kind gestures of the governor by being responsive to the issues of the state wherever and whenever, saying there is no place like home.
