KOGI STATE GOV AWARD CONTRACT AT THE SUM OF N1.4Billion


Kogi State government has awarded  contract for the construction of 500 housing unit at the cost of over 1.4 Billion naira.
           The commissioner for information and home affairs Alhaji Yabagi  Bologi who disclosed this to newsmen shortly after the state executive meeting yesterday said the tender board  has approved the construction of 500 housing unit at the contract sum of over 1.4 Billion naira to four competent companies.

CAPTAIN WADA SET TO STAMP OUT GHOST WORKERS

In view of the alarming increase on the Kogi state wage bill to N3billion naira monthly as against the N1.4 billion naira, the state government has flagged off the commencement of the Biometric Data Capturing exercise for all civil servants n its pay roll.

PDP Regains Majority In Reps As 5 APC Lawmakers Returns To PDP



At least five lawmakers from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Housr of Representatives, formally denounced their membership and resolve to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The five lawmakers are Lawal Shehu Bichi (Kano), Abdulsalam Adamu (Kano), Sani Umar (Zamfara), Ibrahim Shehu Gusau (Zamfara) and Umar Bature (Sokoto).

With the recent defection, PDP has regained its leadership position in the House with 178 against 168 APC members.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Isa, a PDP lawmaker from Kaduna State also dumped PDP for APC.
Speaker Aminu Waziri Tabuwal, announced this during Tuesday plenary session.

After the announcement, PDP lawmakers who were elated by the development booed the minority leader Femi Gbajabiamila who raised a point of order.

Most people would probably not understand what Capt. Idris Wada, Kogi State Governor, meant when on assumption of office he said his administration would do things differently.

The recent two year score card of the Wada led administration, shows that his desires and policy are geared towards making living more pleasurable and fruitful for the people of the State.
Buoyed by the encouraging results his administration has so far achieved and seeing how the peoples lives are being transformed, the activities of Capt. Wada shows that he is determined to take Kogi to where it ought to be and to also ensure that it is within the top 10 States in Nigeria as models of people oriented development and good governance.

DRUG TRAFFICKING IS INIMICAL-- GOV. WADA

The Kogi state Governor, Captain Idris Wada has said that drug trafficking is 
inimical to the socio, political and economic well being and development of any given society.

N181 MILLION NAIRA SPENT FOR FREE RURAL MEDICAL SERVICE BY KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT

The sum of N181 Million naira has been spent for the three quarters as at December 2013 for the Free Rural Medical Service Programme organized by the
Kogi state government.

The Kogi state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Omede Idris made this while speaking on health care delivery Programme of the state government.

N252 MILLION NAIRA FOR KOGI STATE UNIVERSITY

The Kogi state Government has spent the sum of N252 Million naira for the construction of additional two hostels for the male and female students at Kogi state University, Anyigba.

LACK OF UNITY IS THE BANE OF UNDERDEVELOPMENT---CAPTAIN WADA

Kogi State governor Captain Idris Wada has identified lack of unity and co-operation among the leaders in the country as the bane of under development.

Wada stated this over the weekend at the occasion of conferment of awards of a "worthy successor"  on him and hero merit award on the former governor of the state Alhaji Ibrahim Idris by Mentor Communication limited, Abuja in collaboration  with IBRO leadership initiative, in government house, Lokoja. 

Welfare of rural dwellers, our priority-Kogi ALGON boss


The chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, (ALGON), Kogi state chapter, Aloysius Okino has said that the councils in the state will continue to work for improved welfare condition for the rural dwellers.

The chairman who stated this over the weekend during the award ceremony organized by IBRO Leadership Initiative, noted that, with improve funding from the federation account, the councils will perform better than  what it is presently.

Okino who spoke through the Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to ALGON, Ibrahim Obansa,  stressed that the award of the most prudent chairman in the state bestowed on him will encourage him to render more quality service to the people.

NAPEP TO EXECUTE 50 PROJECTS IN KOGI

National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP) is to implement 50 projects in 9 Local Government Areas drawn from the 3 Senatorial District of Kogi state which is expected to cover the area of Rice production and processing, Fisheries and Agriculture.
