Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman has congratulated Governor Idris Wada on his second year in office anniversary.
In a goodwill message he personally signed, the Senator, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) hailed the governor’s inclusive leadership style, which according to him, has helped to further cement the peaceful co-existence among the people of Kogi State.
He equally commended the remarkably unique working relationship and impressive synergy between him and his Deputy, Architect Yomi Awoniyi, while urging Wada to work harder in his various efforts to take Kogi State out of the doldrums and move it to greater heights of development.
His words: “Your Excellency Sir, Captain Ichala Idris Wada, on behalf of my family and the good people of Kogi Central Senatorial District, I wish to congratulate you on the occasion of your second year in office as the Executive Governor of Kogi State. We wish you God’s guidance and protection as you continue to pilot the affairs of the state and we appreciate your tireless efforts at making a significant difference in governance since you assumed office two years ago.
“Through your inclusive leadership style, you have been able to build a consensus among Kogi people which has helped ensure the maintenance of peace in the State. I am especially appreciative of the vital role you played in the restoration of peace in the Central Senatorial District of the State in 2012, after unknown gunmen killed twenty Deeper Life worshippers and two soldiers in Otite and Okene respectively. Thanks to your prompt intervention in the ensuing crisis and your willingness to listen to the people of my district when I led them to your office. Since then, peace has been fully restored in the area. We thank you for that fatherly disposition and leadership during that critical time in Ebiraland.”
He continued: “Your Excellency, Kogi State has been one of the least economically developed states in the country, and as such, we urge you not to relent in your drive to lift the State to greater heights. We have a long way to go in the transformation of our dear State but we believe that by the end of your tenure, you would have succeeded in putting smiles on the faces of Kogi people.
“Sir, I must also commend the impressive synergy and unique working relationship between you and your Deputy, Architect Yomi Awoniyi over the past two years. His emergence as your Deputy may have come about as a political arrangement, but it has turned out to be a divine choice. I assure you that the people of Kogi Central will continue to give your Administration the necessary support to actualize our collective dream of moving Kogi forward and making it one of the States to reckon with in the country.
Congratulations, Your Excellency, and May Almighty God continue to bless and guide you.”
