The chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, (ALGON), Aloysius Okino has stressed the need for Nigerians to shun politics of hatred and bitterness, saying that no development can thrive in such condition.
Okino who is also the chairman of Ajaokuta LGA, stated this in his office in Adogo, when the Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP) forum Ajaokuta district, paid him a visit in his office.
He warned those writing frivolous petitions to have a rethink, stressing that no amount of distraction can change his developmental plan and vision for the council.
According him the projects executed by his administration are spread across the nooks and cranes of the local government, saying that the issue of maginalization only existed in the imagination of the detractors.
Earlier the leader of the Ajaokuta district PDP forum, Mr. Dominic Bajeh, said their visit was essentially to commend the chairman on the positive steps he has taken to reposition the area for greater productivity.
He maintained that the Ajaokuta district has witness more development under the reign of the chairman more than any other administration, since the creation of the council in 1992.
He noted that in addition to the numerous projects executed by the administration of Okino in the area, he was able to attract the state government projects to the area, saying that he should not be distracted.
He called on the governor, Captain Idris Wada not to take seriously those he described as faceless, saying that the same group has never seen anything good in the PDP, hence their resulting to cheap blackmail.
