The Governor made this known on Wednesday during the celebration of 2013 Pensioner's Day which took place at Lokoja Township Stadium.
According to him , in collaboration with the inion the state government will embark on pensions verification exercise to determine the number of pensioners and the financial implication towards increasing the pensioners take home pay.
He mentioned that the exercise was not aimed at stopping any pensioners pay and urged them to cooperate for the success of it he exercise as he restated that the welfare and issues of pensioners remain a priority in his administration.
Earlier the chairman of Nigeria Union of Pensioners Kogi state Chapter, Comrade Chief Onu Abdullahi in his welcome address commended the governor for given the welfare of pensioners in the state a priority attention.
He noted that under the present administration that money allotted for payment of outstanding gratuity to pensioners increase from 25 per cent to 50 percent as he pledged for the loyalty and support of pensioners to the present administration.
