Kogi State Government says it is exploring the option that will lead to immortalizing the good legacies of Late Alh Adamu Attah, Kwara’s first civilian governor, who died at the age of 83.
Capt Idris Wada the governor of the state made the disclosure at the forty day fidau prayers of the late civilian governor of Kwara State between 1979 and 1983 on the platform of the National Party of Nigeria.
The governor said the legacies of the good works the late governor has laid still stands the test of time,added that he will be remembered for his selfless service when he served.
His impact as governor, Capt Wada noted will linger for a long time to come, said his laudable achievements in the present day Ebira land can not be over emphasized.
The governor specifically mentioned the establishment of Secondary Schools, the School of Nursing (now College of Nursing, Obangede), the Specialist Hospital, Obangede; The Osara Campus of the present Kogi Polytechnic; the construction of the Okene-Kuroko-Itakpe road, electrification of several communities,numerous empowerment programmes which benefited the people among others as legacies the former governor will be remembered for.
While noting that immortalizing the name of the former governor will encourage hard work and patriotism,qualities the late elder statesman was known for, the respect the present administration has for the late elder statesman, Capt Wada explained necessitated the close relationship that existed between him and the administration till his demise.
Capt Wada described the late Attah as an elder statesman who epitomized sincerity, adding that the wise counsel of the former governor to the growth and development of the state would be greatly missed.
The governor prayed God to grant the family he left behind the fortitude to bear the lost,urged his children to walk in his footsteps of service and commitment to the growth of the State.
